The Electronics Products and Systems Center (EPSC) at CALCE (the Center for Advanced Lifecycle Engineering) is now using MADe and the CALCE developed Simulation Assisted Reliability Assessment (SARA) to conduct PHM and reliability-science-based life assessment of electronic hardware.
The SARA software can be used to assess life expectancy of electronic hardware under anticipated life cycle loading conditions, as well as under accelerated stress test conditions. It is based on CALCE methodology that uses physics-of-failure based principles and software to assess whether a part/system can meet defined life cycle requirements based on its materials, geometry, and operating characteristics.
"CALCE has a long track record of research into reliability assessment of electronics, and we both agree that the reliability, predictive maintenance and PHM of complex engineering systems requires an understanding of their underlying physics” said Chris Stecki, CEO of PHM Technology. "if you want to solve engineering problems then you have to use engineering knowledge to do so – and that means a causation model based on physics of failure. MADe and SARA both utilise causation models”
MADe is a model-based engineering analysis solution for Reliability, Safety and Maintainability of a platform or system, with unique capabilities in the design of CBM & PHM (diagnostic) capability.
MADe enables digitization of RAMS and enables customers to leverage Industry 4.0 and IoT initiatives to achieve predictive maintenance and CBM capabilities.
